Republic Day: Vehicles restricted on some routes in Patna

PATNA: Divisional commissioner Kumar Ravi reviewed the final Republic Day parade rehearsals at Gandhi Maidan on Tuesday while the Patna traffic police has issued a set of traffic regulations in the city for January 26.
Gandhi Maidan has been divided into four sectors and sub-sectors for the R-Day celebrations. The general public will enter the ground through gate number 4, 6, and 7 whereas guests will enter through gate number 9 and 10. All invited visitors have been instructed to take their seats by 8.30am. The general public has been prohibited from carrying bags.
A total of 111 magistrates will be deputed at 58 different places to maintain law and order in and around Gandhi Maidan. eld.
All the roads leading to Gandhi Maidan will be closed for commuters from 7am till the programme ends.
Vehicles will not be allowed on the western flank of Fraser Road from Dak Bungalow roundabout to Children Park near Gandhi Maidan from 7am till the main function is over. This route will be reserved for the movement of governor, chief minister, deputy CM and their family members and the other VVIPs. No vehicle will be allowed from New Dak Bungalow Road to SP Verma Road, from Desh Ratna Marg to Dak Bungalow Square and Fraser Road, from Dak Bungalow Square to JP Golambar, from Exhibition Road towards Gandhi Maidan and from Children Park to Kargil Chowk. Unclaimed vehicles found on these routes will be towed away and legal action will be taken against their owners.
All east-bound roads from Kotwali police station 'T-Point' to Police Lines will remain closed for vehicles during the R-Day function. The vehicles going to the north of planetarium will be allowed only up to the trijunction near Police Lines via Budh Marg. The traffic officials said only vehicles with valid pass will be allowed on the flank of the JP Ganga Path (near Commissioner's office) to AN Sinha Institute.
Vehicles coming from Patna Junction to Gandhi Maidan will turn from Dak Bungalow crossing towards Bhattacharya Road to CDA building, Goriya Toli via Exhibition Road and back to Patna Junction.
City buses plying from NIT-Patna Mor will be diverted towards Macchuatoli from Gandhi Chauraha to Dariyapur, Nala Road, Pirmuhani, CDA building roundabout, Goriya Toli to Patna Junction. Commercial vehicles coming from Patna City side will turn to Musallahpur Haat, Bari Path, Khazanchi Road and Ashok Rajpath and return to Gaighat.
Separate entry gates have been allotted for guests. Gate number 10 is for e-card holders and special dignitaries. Women will enter from gate number 12 and 13, students from gate number 2, 3 and 4 and the common from gate number 6 and 7. All the two-wheelers will be parked in front of Udyog Bhawan on the east side of Gandhi Maidan.
