Mock poll conducted in Erode

Erode: To check the functioning of electronic voting machines, the district administration conducted a mock poll before the representatives of the various political parties at the collectorate here on Tuesday.
District collector and the election officer H Krishnanunni said as many as 500 EVMs are kept ready for the forthcoming byelection for the Erode East assembly segement.
Twenty EVMs malfunctioned during the exercise. The collector said all the 20 malfunctioned EVMs will be rectified at the earliest.
