Panaji: The state will see light rain at isolated locations for the next 24 hours due to westerly winds caused by cyclonic circulation in Tamil Nadu, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Due to moisture intrusion in the weather from cyclonic circulation over interior Tamil Nadu, the state awoke on Tuesday to gloomy weather with clouds covering the sky.
“There is clouding over Kerala and Tamil Nadu due to cyclonic circulation over the north interior of Tamil Nadu, which means moisture incursion through south westerly winds coming from sea side over Konkan and Goa is expected for the next 24 hours, after which the weather is very likely to be dry for the following three days,” said IMD scientist Rahul M.
The department predicts that for the next 48 hours, days will be cooler and nights will be warmer, and that the sky will remain clear in the morning before becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon or evening.
The city reported minimum and maximum temperatures of 19.6 °C and 31 °C over the last two days, respectively, which are within the range of normal.
The highest maximum temperature of 31.4 °C and the lowest minimum temperature of 19.6 °C were both recorded on Tuesday in Panaji. However, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 30°C and 21°C, respectively, over the next 48 hours.
