Woman alleges harassment by man, lodges plaint

Ramgarh: A 23-year-old resident of Ramgarh lodged a complaint with Barkakana outpost police station against a man from another community for allegedly forcing her to get into a relationship. This complainant is the sister of a woman who was brutally killed earlier this month by a man from another community for not agreeing to get into a physical relationship with him. The accused in the latter’s case is currently in jail. The Ramgarh woman claimed that the man is the jailed accused’s cousin.
On Monday, former chief minister Babulal Marandi tweeted about the woman’s plight to draw the government’s attention. He also accused Barkakana police station officials of apathy stating that it is apathetic to the woman’s concerns. He also suspected that it could be a ploy to force the family members of the deceased to take back the case.
Patratu SDPO Birendra Kumar Chaudhary said, “We have already arrested the accused for killing the woman earlier this month. We will look into this woman’s plea as well.”
