Ranchi: Perhaps in a first visit by any chief minister of
Jharkhand, Hemant Soren is scheduled to visit Burha Pahar — once a citadel of CPI (Maoist) and recently reclaimed by security forces — on January 27, a day after hoisting the R-Day flag in Dumka, to take stock of the area and meet the locals.
Officials, however, could not verify officially if Soren is the first CM to visit the area after the creation of Jharkhand. Burha Pahar, located on the Jharkhand-Chhattisgarh border and spread over a 55 sqkm area, has always been a Red-zone for close to three decades.
