Four units stop working at RTPS

Kalaburagi: Power generation has been stopped in four units of the Raichur Thermal Power Station owing to technical problems for more than a week. During annual maintenance, leakage was found at a boiler.
It was found that there was a technical problem at the exhaust of the pipeline of the fifth and sixth units, prompting authorities to suspend operations. The first unit has not been operational for the past one year, since there has been a proposal to rebuild it. Currently, 560MW of power is being generated daily at the power plant, whose full capacity is 1,720MW.
