Beggars and homeless enjoy musical show

Bhubaneswar: Beggars and urban homeless living in shelters in the capital enjoyed dance and music at Dotfest on Monday. The BMC brought about 100 beggars from different shelters to the venue at exhibition ground here. The beggars and homeless are kept at the shelters after they are rescued by different private agencies engaged by the BMC. Since the city is celebrating the hockey World Cup and a festive environment reverberates in the capital, the BMC said people from all walks of life should enjoy. BMC additional commissioner Laxmikant Sethi said the beggars were accompanied by 15 volunteers to ferry, monitor and take care of them from the start of the show till they are returned to the shelters.
