Kanpur: Kanpur court advocates observed Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's birth anniversary at the Lawyers Association hall here on Monday.
Ravindra Sharma, president of the association, garlanded Netaji’s picture. Speaking on this occasion, he said, “We feel proud of the courage and sacrifice of our leaders for the freedom of India. The great leaders of the Indian freedom struggle always encourage us."
He said with the slogan “Give me blood, I will give you freedom”, Bose had raised the Azad Hind Army and added, “Our leader can play a significant role on the principles on which the country fought against British rule”.
The advocates would also follow the path and principles laid by Subhash Chandra Bose and fight for the advocate's pension scheme and for their health insurance, Sharma said.
The advocates urged the Government of India to honour Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose by conferring on him Bharat Ratna award.
At the end of the function, the advocates offered flowers on the portrait of Netaji and paid respect to him.
