Eye on 2024 polls, Noida MLAs urge UP CM Yogi Adityanath to expedite projects
From 6% abadi plot issue of farmers to the need for more Kendriya Vidyalayas, government degree and inter colleges, and registry of flats for homebuyers — these were some of the matters raised by Noida, Dadri and Jewar MLAs in a meeting with UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath over the weekend.
NOIDA: From 6% abadi plot issue of farmers to the need for more Kendriya Vidyalayas, government degree and inter colleges, and registry of flats for homebuyers — these were some of the matters raised by Noida, Dadri and Jewar MLAs in a meeting with UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath over the weekend.
Reconstruction of Pusta bridge, the elevator act for highrises, a joint committee of officials to address issues related to AOAs handover and settlement of disputes as well as electricity connection for the submergence area were other local issues discussed at the meeting. Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar, for instance, demanded a stadium and library in the name of Sudiksha Bhati who died in a road accident three years ago.
“I told the CM that all the three development authorities of Gautam Budh Nagar are built on farmers’ land. If farmers have to make rounds of the offices of the authorities for their pending compensation and other local issues, how can we justify that,” Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh told TOI.
Noida MLA Pankaj Singh, on his part, drew the attention of CM Yogi to some of the problems related to his constituency.
“In the Population Regulation Rules-2011, there is a provision to give a plot of 450 sqm per adult of the family to the farmers of Greater Noida. Farmers have been continuously demanding that this area be increased to 1,000 sqm per adult. This proposal has been approved by the Noida Authority board several months ago but it is awaiting government approval. I have asked the CM to expedite this.”
Apart from this, Singh also raised the pending registry issue of homebuyers and urged for their redress as well as electricity connection for the submergence area in Noida.
“I also told the CM that under the UP Apartments Act, there is a need to conduct elections in all the societies of Noida within a stipulated period. And for this, I have proposed a joint committee of officials from the authority, the district administration and the district registrar of securities, chits and funds, to oversee the process,” said Singh, who had also proposed the extension of development work to the villages of Noida.
Singh also proposed the launch of new housing schemes for low-income group people and demanded a government girls’ degree college in Noida, four new government inter-colleges and one more Kendriya Vidyalaya for the city. “There is a need to upgrade many primary and upper primary schools as well,” he said.
While the CM urged MPs and MLAs to ensure more people connect and address their constituency-related issues, he directed officials in his office to address the local issues raised by the MLAs, especially related to the farmers.
