Bhiwandi youth becomes bike lifter to meet 'girlfriend's demands', held

KALYAN: In order to meet the demands of his girlfriend, a Bhiwandi-based 19-year-old youth would use to steal motorcycles.
The accused identified as Shubham Pawar. Shubham had stolen around 13 vehicles in just one-and-half year from the Kalyan-Dombivli and Bhiwandi region. He had sold those bikes to villagers in Latur, Solapur and Pune.
"Due to rising cases of vehicle theft, we had formed a team who recently received specific information about accused residing in Rajnoli area in Bhiwandi and finally, on January 20, we nabbed him," a police officer said.
"At least 13 stolen vehicles were recovered from different cities," police said.
