Subhas march, painting contests mark Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s 126th birth anniversary
Human chain formed to take road safety oath
VARANASI: To celebrate the 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, several events were organised here on Monday.
While the Central school organised a painting competition, a Subhas march was carried out by the Bharatiya Awam Party.
On the fifth day of the Subhash Mahotsav on Monday, a special event was organised at the Subhas temple in Lamahi village. It was attended by senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar, Peethadhishwar of Patalpuri Math Mahant Balak Das and VBS founder Rajiv Srivastava among others. During the celebration a garland and coconuts were offered at a statue of Subhas Chandra Bose. Chanting of Vedic mantras and a ‘Mahaaarti’ by 126 women also marked the celebration. Later, Bal Azad Hind Battalion and NCC cadets saluted Netaji's statue.
Meanwhile, a human chain was formed and students took a road safety oath at the Central Jail Road crossing. District magistrate S Rajalingam was also present.
