In anticipation of heavy winds and rain throughout Tuesday, many local businesses are closing up shop early.

They join the dozens of schools around the region who have decided to dismiss students early and cancel classes.

Beaumont Children's Museum

The Beaumont Children's Museum is closing early at 12 p.m. Tuesday afternoon "due to the severe weather forecast," the museum wrote in a Facebook post.

DuGood Federal Credit Union

DuGood Federal Credit Union is closing all of its Southeast Texas branches "for the safety of our members and employees" Tuesday afternoon.

In Facebook posts across its several branch accounts, the credit union said all branches and drive thrus will close at 1 p.m.

Regular hours are expected to resume Wednesday.

Edison Museum

The Edison Museum is closing at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon due to the possibility of inclement weather.

"We will reopen tomorrow at 10 (a.m.)," the museum said in a Facebook post Tuesday afternoon.

Education First Federal Credit Union

Education First Federal Credit Union will close all of its Southeast Texas branches and drive thrus early Tuesday afternoon.

In a Facebook post Tuesday afternoon, the credit union said it will close branch offices and drive thrus at 1 p.m.

"Online banking will still be available through our mobile app and website," the post said.

Jefferson County Courthouse

The Jefferson County Courthouse is closed for the remainder of Tuesday afternoon.
