VARANASI: The courts of district judge Ajay Krihsna Vishvesha and civil judge senior division (FTC) Mahendra Kumar Pandey on Monday rescheduled the dates for next hearing in three Gyanvapi-related cases.
District government counsel (civil) Mahendra Prasad Panday said, “In view of Allahabad High Court directive to fix next date of hearing in suit no. 18/2022 Rakhi Singh vs state and others, filed by five women to seek worship of Goddess Shringar Gauri and other deities in Gyanvapi mosque compound after March 20, the court of district judge fixed March 21 as the next date of hearing.”
Pandey said that following rejection of the demand of carbon-dating and scientific investigation of four women plaintiffs —Laxmi Devi, Sita Sahu, Manju Vyas and Rekha Pathak — their lawyers Hari Shankar Jain and Vishnu Shankar Jain had moved HC to file revision petition. The HC had issued this order in the same revision petition.
Regarding the developments in civil judge senior division (FTC) Mahendra Kumar Pandey’s court, assistant district government counsel (civil) Sulabh Prakash said, “In civil suit no. 712/2022, filed by Bhagwan Aadi Vishweshwar Viraajman through next friend Kiran Singh and others, seeking the right to worship the purported ‘Shivling’ found in the mosque complex and other reliefs, the court fixed February 17 as the next date of hearing.”
In the suit, Kiran Singh is seeking ban on the entry of Muslims in Gyanvapi mosque, handing over Gyanvapi premises to the Hindus and permitting regular ‘puja-archana’ (worship) of Aadi Visheshwar — the purported Shivling found during court mandated survey on May 16, 2022.
In another civil suit no. 889/2022 filed by Vishnu Gupta and Ajit Singh to make Lord Avimukteshwar as owner of the Gyanvapi property, arrangements to worship the ‘Shivling’, etc., the court fixed February 13 as the next date of hearing.
