Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 09:59AM

PTC India(up 3.79%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 1.85%), Indowind Energy(up 1.81%), Reliance Power(up 1.52%), RTNPOWER(up 1.30%), NHPC(up 1.17%), Alstom T&D India(up 0.91%), Adani Power(up 0.79%), KPI Green Energy(up 0.73%) and SJVN(up 0.73%) were among the top gainers.

Jyoti Structures(down 4.91%), Transmission(down 3.41%), KEC International(down 2.53%), Torrent Power(down 1.22%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.02%), DPSC(down 0.77%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(down 0.69%), NLC India(down 0.68%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 0.66%) and Inox wind(down 0.61%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 45.6 points up at 18164.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 186.59 points at 61128.26 at around 09:59AM.

Tata Motors(up 2.06%), HDFC Bank(up 1.04%), Asian Paints(up 0.99%), HCL Technologies(up 0.94%), Cipla(up 0.91%), Infosys(up 0.81%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.77%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.7%), Bajaj Finserv(up 0.66%) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.57%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, JSW Steel(down 1.16%), Axis Bank(down 1.15%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.02%), Tata Steel(down 0.61%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.58%), Grasim Industries(down 0.55%), Coal India(down 0.46%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.4%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.37%) and UPL Ltd(down 0.33%) were trading in the red.
