Two cows slaughtered at Karnataka's Kodagu estate; case booked
Sunticoppa police visited the estate where two cows were allegedly slaughtered
MADIKERI: An incident involving two cows being slaughtered, butchered the remains being buried in an estate was busted by Hindu Jagaran Vedike activists. Sunticoppa police have registered a case against the estate owner.
Following a tipoff, the forum activists complained to police. Sunticoppa police visited the spot inside the estate of Latif near Harangi backwater area at Garangandur 'B' village of Somwarpet taluk alongside the complainants on Sunday.
The labourers of Hosathota and Madapur and the local forum activists, who were eyewitnesses, showed police where the cows were killed inside the estate. Sunticoppa crime investigation SI Swamy and team inspected the spot.
Police found the skin and internal organs of two cows buried in the soil and registered an FIR against estate owner Latif.
Meanwhile, Hindu Jarana Vedike office bearers Sunil and Vinu alleged that such cow slaughtering incidents have become common in Kodagu, particularly by miscreants from a community. They urged Kodagu police to take stringent action against those who kill cows to sell beef illegally.
