3-day poetesses’ conference in Belagavi from January 28
Belagavi: The 22nd All India Poetesses’ Conference is scheduled to be held from January 28 to 31. It is the second time the event is being held in Karnataka. The event was last held in the state in 2012 in Hubballi. The conference will feature sessions on Hindi, Kannada, while there will be a multi-lingual poetry recital.
The conference will have more than 250 poetesses from across the country participating in the event. In addition to poetry recital sessions, the conference will feature cultural events, presentation of research papers on ‘Women to Build a Sustainable Future’. Books will be released, and veteran poetesses feted during the conference.
Convener of the All India Poetesses’ Conference Jyoti Badami on Sunday said that the event would be held at the seminar hall of the SG Balekundri Engineering College in Shivbasav Nagar. She said that Asha Prabhakar Kore had been named the honorary president of the welcome committee of the conference.
Jyoti said the delegates would be accommodated at the hostels of the JN Medical College. The conference itself would be flagged off by minister for endowments Shashikala Jolle, with Belagavi MP Mangala Angadi, former minister Leeladevi Prasad, and Prof Lari Azad in attendance. Allamaprabhu Swami of the Naganuru Rudrakshimath is expected to grace the event, Jyoti added. TNN
