    Monterey Park Shooting News Live: Authorities say the suspect in a California dance club shooting that left 10 dead has shot and killed himself. Luna identified the suspect as 72-year-old Huu Can Tran and is of Asian American descent. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said Sunday the man killed himself as police officers closed in on the van he used to flee the scene of an attempted second shooting. He said no other suspects are at large.

    12 shot in US nightclub in Louisiana

    Twelve people were shot and injured at a nightclub in Baton Rouge, capital city of the US state of Louisiana. Three of the injured were in critical condition and were rushed to the hospital, Xinhua news agency quoted local media reports as saying. On Sunday evening, police spokesman L'Jean McKneely Jr. said all the injured were in stable condition. The shooting occurred at the Dior Bar and Lounge around 1.30 a.m., said McKneely. No arrest has been made so far, and the motive of the shooting remains unknown.

    IAF to hold outreach programme for youths on Jan 24 in Gorakhpur

    Air Force Station Gorakhpur will be organising a public outreach programme 'Know Your Forces' on Tuesday as part of the 74th Republic Day celebrations to showcase the might of the IAF and motivate young people to join the defence forces. An official statement issued here said that the aim of the programme is to motivate the youth of Gorakhpur and surrounding areas and familiarise them with the Indian Armed Forces in general and Indian Air Force in particular. Students of more than 25 prominent schools and colleges of the area are being invited to the event.

    S Korea's cumulative Covid cases top 30 mn

    South Korea reported 9,227 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, the lowest number in more than three months, health authorities said, amid a slowdown in infections and less testing over the Lunar New Year holiday. The new cases, including 60 from overseas, brought the total caseload to 30,008,756, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said. The nation, with a population of 51.6 million, also reached the grim milestone of 30 million, three years after its first Covid-19 case was reported on January 20, 2020.

    Two persons allegedly lost their lives after consuming spurious liquor in the Lakari Nabiganj of Bihar's Siwan on Sunday. Sub-Divisional Public Grievance Officer in Siwan, Abhishek Chandan said that one of the deceased persons died after consuming spurious liquor while the other one was declared brought dead in the Siwan hospital. "One person was brought dead and five others are currently being treated at Siwan Hospital. The cause of the death is yet to be ascertained which will be cleared after the reports of post-mortem," said Sub-Divisional Public Grievance Officer, Abhishek Chandan.
