Two arrested for minor's rape in Odisha

BERHAMPUR: Two persons were arrested in connection with the abduction and gang-rape of a 16-year-old girl on January 19. The arrest was made by Ganjam police on Saturday. The duo had raped the teenager in a forest under Bhanjanagar police station limits in Ganjam.
The accused were identified as Purna Chandra Swain (28) and Kandha Gouda (22). "The accused and the rape survivor belong to the same village," Bhanjanagar police station's IIC Dhiresh Das said. According to the police, the teenager was returning home from a threshing yard on January 19, when the accused kidnapped her and took her to the nearby jungle where they raped her. tnn
