Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Monday at 10:50AM

Ashapura Minechem(up 9.79%), Oriental Trimex(up 1.26%), Coal India(up 1.08%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.02%), MOIL(up 0.95%), Dvpt Corporation(up 0.90%) and NMDC Ltd(up 0.31%) were among the top gainers.

20 Microns(down 1.45%), Aro Granite Industries(down 1.13%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.79%), Pokarna(down 0.28%) and KIOCL(down 0.02%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 111.1 points up at 18138.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 427.57 points at 61049.34 at around 10:50AM.

Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.92%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.9%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.66%), Eicher Motors(up 1.6%), Tata Motors(up 1.41%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.31%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.17%), UPL Ltd(up 1.13%), State Bank of India(up 1.09%) and Coal India(up 1.08%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UltraTech Cement(down 2.43%), JSW Steel(down 1.84%), Grasim Industries(down 1.11%), NTPC(down 1.07%), Adani Enterprises(down 0.61%), SBI Life(down 0.55%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.54%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.48%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.38%) and Asian Paints(down 0.14%) were trading in the red.
