KL Rahul, Athiya Shetty to tie the knot today at Khandala

It's wedding bells for ace cricketer KL Rahul and Bollywood starlet Athiya Shetty! The couple will tie the knot today (January 23).

The duo will reportedly take their vows at 4:00 pm. The event will take place at Suniel Shetty’s palatial bungalow in Khandala. The wedding will be relatively a low-key affair (by Bollywood standards!) with only 100 guests attending. The guest list will include big names like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and cricketers MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. The duo will pose for the paparazzi at 6:30 pm. Here’s what we know about the event:

Wedding Rules
The couple has imposed a ‘no-phone’ policy for guests. The guests have also been requested not to share any pictures or videos from the event.

What’s On The Menu?
According to an India Today report, the guests will be served sumptuous South Indian food on banana leaves.

The pre-wedding festivities kicked off on Saturday (21 Jan) with a cocktail party. This was followed by a mehndi and haldi ceremony on January 22. The couple hosted a lavish Sangeet ceremony at the Shetty bungalow. Several pictures and videos from the event are going viral on social media. Here’s what we know from these clips:

Guests jammed to chartbusters like ‘Besharam Rang’, ‘Humma Humma’, ‘Jumma Chumma’ etc. Suniel Shetty’s hit songs such as ‘Jhankariya’, and ‘Aaj Ki Party’ were also on the playlist.

70 people attended the party. Among them were actor Tiger Shroff’s sister Krishna and celebrity photographer Rohan Shrestha.

Neither Athiya nor her cricketer beau has made an official announcement of their wedding plans. However, on Sunday, Shetty reportedly promised the paparazzi stationed outside his Khandala farmhouse, that he would get the duo to pose for pictures. "Main kal leke aata hoon bachhon ko," (I will get the kids to pose) he stated to the journalists.

Bollywood star Ajay Devgn took to Twitter to congratulate the bride and bridegroom. He wrote, “Congratulations to my dear friends @SunielVShetty & #ManaShetty for their daughter @theathiyashetty's marriage to @klrahul. Here’s wishing the young couple a blissful married life. And, Anna, here’s a special shout-out to you on this auspicious occasion - Ajay."
According to an ETimes report, the couple will host a grand reception in Mumbai later on where 3000 guests will be invited. This will be the traditional big fat Indian affair, and several bigwigs from the world of entertainment, business and politics are expected to show up.
