PRAYAGRAJ: Three policemen including a woman constable sustained minor injuries when the police escort jeep, escorting a sitting high court justice, turned turtle near Saraychachak village under the limits of Sarayinayat police station in trans-Ganga area of Prayagraj district. The incident, as per Sarayinayat police, took place when the justice was going to Varanasi to take part an event. Station House Officer (Sarayinayat) told TOI, the police escort vehicle, escorting a high court justice, was hit by a speeding car while making a futile over-take bid and as a result, the police escorting jeep turned turtle and left three policemen including woman constable Sunita Yadav, driver RN Singh and another policeman Virendra injured.
He added that there were a total four policemen in the escorting vehicle and medical examination of all of four policemen was conducted. The injuries were minor, he claimed. He, however, said that the vehicle of judge also got partially damaged but the judge escaped unhurt. The police have detained the errant driver and seized the errant vehicle, said SHO. TNN
