GURUGRAM: A property dealer has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman after an argument over playing loud music in Sector 81.
He was arrested on Saturday, police said.
Cops said they received the woman’s complaint against her neighbour, a resident of Sector 81, on January 14 at Kherki Daula police station.
Police spokesperson Subhash Boken said, “According to the complainant, on the intervening night of January 13 and 14, a resident who stayed near the woman’s flat, rang the doorbell of her house around 2.15am. When she opened the door, the accused along with at least seven others, including four women, pushed and assaulted her.”
“The accused pushed me and my husband, hurled abuses at us and threatened to throw me out of the house. The accused also hit me multiple times,” she told the police. An FIR under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 379 A (snatching) was filed at the Kherki Daula police station and the accused was arrested, Boken said, adding that others who were with the accused will be arrested soon.
A police officer said the woman was assaulted after she complained to the RWA that the accused, who stays near her flat, played loud music at night.
“When society guards reached at the accused’s flat and requested him to turn the volume down, he got enraged and reached at the woman’s home with his friends and assaulted her and husband,” he said.
