Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.83%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Monday.

Shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 2.4 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 2.29 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 2.08 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 1.68 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(up 1.42 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, TIINDIA(down 1.78 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.27 per cent) and Bosch(down 0.17 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Auto index closed 0.83 per cent up at 12797.05.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 90.9 points at 18118.55, while the BSE Sensex stood up 319.9 points at 60941.67.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, , , and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of RBM Infracon Ltd., , , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , Vikas Proppant & Gr, Godha Cabcon & Insul and Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
