Lineman electrocuted, another injured

Varanasi: A lineman was electrocuted in Pahadiya area while another lineman sustained injuries while repairing line faults on Saturday morning. The injured person was admitted to the hospital.
Shivprakash (28), a contract worker of sub-station Shaktipeeth, Sarnath which comes under Urban Electricity Distribution Division-VI, lost his life after coming in contact with live wire at Havelia intersection. In another incident, contract worker Gyanendra Kumar sustained burns in his right hand due to back feed while attending breakdown on 11 KV feeder coming out of 33/11 KV power sub-station of Municipal Corporation, Jayaprakash Nagar. Chief engineer of power department, Anup Kumar Verma said that the incident occurred due to carelessness of the worker. Scores of power employees staged a demonstration in front of the office of the superintending engineer in the Sigra area. TNN
