Speaking over the ongoing ‘Mughal Tent’ controversy, Jaipur Literature Festival Organiser Sanjay K Roy on January 21 said that they are in Literature festival and they have nothing to do with politics. “Anyone can create controversy. In Hollywood, ‘Mughal’ is used to denote lifestyle. Kings of Rajasthan like Jai Singh and Man Singh were all part of Akbar’s court. Ajmer Sharif is an aspect of all religion put together. We are in Literature festival; we have nothing to do with politics. He has his personal opinion and views. This is a part of history, which has been going on for the last 16 years and will remain the same in the future,” said Sanjay K Roy. Rajasthan BJP MLA Ram Lal Sharma objected Jaipur Literature Festival over naming one of its venue as Mughal Tent. “It has hurt the sentiments of a lot of people in the country,” he said.
