Best 55/65" OLED TV

Hi,

Currently owning Mi Tv Pro 55" (the first version, which was released around 5 years ago).
It's still running solid without any issue. But looking to upgrade to OLED experience.

Things are being considered
1. Mi TV OLED (feels like value for money)
2. LG C2 (top of the class, but reliability issues with screen burns and not sustaining beyond 3-4 years)
3. Samsung QLED QN950B (on par with C2, but not a true OLED, 10 yrs solid warranty)

Current C2 is the latest model in Global/India. They usually revamp model after August typically

If your budget allows for new sony oleds then they're the ones to get if not lg C2/G2 is just as good.

If most of your usage includes static contents like TV serials with channel logos etc then burn in is a possible risk with OLEDs. If it's mainly for movie watching and OTT then OLED is the best choice and burn in risk is very low to nil. Only con is less brightness than it's qled counterparts which may not be ideal for some. So go check in offline retail shops and see how you like them in full brightness in those lighting.

Also buy only from offline retail shops as that'll get you the best price after a little bargaining. It'll be 10-50k cheaper than online price depending on brand and model.

The Samsung ones offer 10y warranty only for burn in, which doesn't matter because it's not a OLED so there's no risk of burn in. They have standard 1+1 warranty just like others.

Please read again it's not about brands, though the models with heatsink fare better with regards to burn in. Generally oleds have a burn in risk if viewing content with logos or any other static stuff over and over at high brightness. Newer gen oleds are said to be better in this regard.

So if you're buying it for a mix of TV, OTT and movies it's fine but if it's only for watching Indian serials or news, sports that have static logos, scoreboard etc or as PC monitor then over time burn in may happen.

As for pros and cons

The new models pretty much have everything like hdr10, Dolby vision etc and are all equally good.
You just need to check if they support VRR and 4k 120hz and have proper HDMI 2.1 ports.
QD-oleds use new technology that offer better brightness than old models

Cons
- low brightness compared to top qleds
- Some oleds might have worse black crush than others where some details in dark scenes are lost
- Possible burn in risk

Warranty is similar 1 year comprehensive plus one year panel warranty for lg, Samsung where as sony is 1 year and they all don't cover burn in under extended warranty if i remember correctly. LG/Samsung is the worst of the bunch for after sales support.

Best OLED in India >> Sony A95K (Comes only in 65inch though)
Best VFM OLED >> LG G2/C2

Sad reliability and service of LG's C2 from the equivalent of TE for A/V stuff.

My Bad experience with LG C9 65” OLED

My LG C9 65” OLED panel is dead 1 month after warranty expiration, and LG is not ready to provide the panel replaced under goodwill. I had purchased the TV from offline store in Chennai during 2019 Diwali sale (Invoiced 27th Oct 2019) and it came with 3 years warranty. The TV was not turning...

That's bad, atleast they managed to replace yours for free. How long did it take for it to start burning in? 5 years?
I think the new oleds are slightly better in this especially the ones with heat sink

I bought one of their new qled and it's been a nightmare to get them to service it even under warranty, I'm not surprised how they treat customers when warranty is over.

Nope, started mildly in 2nd year and panel became unwatchable in 4th year. After a year of fight, they replaced in 5th year. Replacement panel too developed slight burn in within just a couple of months.

G2. AUDIO, Gaming HGIG support, more compact, more brighter than C2, full wall touch. G2 has built it heat sink among many different features. Warranty I got for 3 yrs. The price I got it for was just amazing and I would be surprised if someone can get G2 with same price lol.

Regarding Burn in, honestly it's gonna be hard by default if the screen can get G2 and annoying for consumer lol. TV goes to safe mode automatically with wallpaper/clock etc within few mins(no option to change those settings) if inactive. and wallpaper/clock etc also is not stable. It keeps moving, can get annoying lol but there are too many things on the TV for the TV to ever get burn in. However I have burn in warranty included, so good there.

C2 55 usually sells at 85k or low (offline)
C2 65 - 1.4 L or low
G2 55 - 1.1 L or low (these are from Bajaj Hyderabad)

Dont even compare with online prices. They are too inflated in Appliances compared to offline store. On top of that price, you get cash back upto 10k

Earlier to C2, LG was offering premium panels in G series with high refresh rate. From C2 onwards, they are using same panel for G2 and C2 (check Linus YT)
