Commission will probe Cong leader’s death: KPCC prez
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K Sudhakaran has said a party commission has been appointed to conduct a probe to establish the circumstances leading to the death of KPCC treasurer V Prathapachandran. He said that the commission will submit its report in three days.
Prejit Chandran, son of Prathapachandran, had approached the KPCC president seeking an inquiry into the role of party leaders behind the death of his father. Prejit had alleged that his father was subjected to mental torture and public humiliation by a few leaders in the KPCC office.
Later, Prejit had alleged that the KPCC president rejected his request and subsequently, he approached chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking a probe into his father’s death. The children stated in the complaint that their father’s death was not natural but due to mental torture and public humiliation. “We request you as honourable chief minister of Kerala to investigate the factual matters mentioned in our complaint and take necessary action,” they said.
The government had asked the assistant commissioner of police of Sanghumukham to conduct a probe. Prathapachandran had died on December 20.
