Court to pronounce order on bail pleas today
Thiruvananthapuram: After hearing the anticipatory bail pleas of the accused in BSNL Engineers’ Cooperative Society fraud and the plea of the Save Forum to add it a party in the case, the sixth additional district sessions court on Friday posted the case to Saturday.
While considering the bail pleas of the accused, a collective, named Save Forum, of the people who were cheated in the fraud submitted a plea before the court to add them a party in the case. The plea of the Save Forum was strongly objected by the additional public prosecutor M Salahuddin on behalf of the prosecution.
The Judge K Vishnu, after days of hearing, posted the case for judgement on Saturday.
The prosecution pleaded before the court to dispose of the bail pleas as custodial interrogation of the accused is a must as over 2,000 people were cheated in the fraud.
Accused AR Gopinathan Nair, former president of the society, and AR Rajeev, who worked as the clerk at the society, approached the court seeking bail last week. TNN
