Ranchi: Following the directives of the governor-cum-chancellor, Ramesh Bais’, Ranchi University has finally suspended Ranchi Women’s College principal Shamshun Nehar based on a report submitted by the university’s vice-chancellor, Ajit Kumar Sinha.
The report accused Nehar of financial and administrative irregularities. She was also accused of protecting a few college teachers and staff engaged in illegal activities.
The Ranchi University public relation officer, Smriti Singh, said, “The suspension order was issued on Wednesday and it was handed over to her on Thursday.”
The Ranchi University also issued a notification transferring associate professor Supriya from the university’s department of English to the Ranchi Women’s College. Associate professor Abha Khalko has also been transferred from Ranchi Women’s College to the university department of history.
The university has also appointed associate professor Vishnu Charan Mahto as the head of the English department.
