Consumer redressal cases cleared faster

Panaji: The Goa State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has disposed of 154 cases between October to December 2022 after an officiating president and members of district consumer commissions were appointed.
Another 30 matters are scheduled to be disposed of by the commission during January 2023 as it has been functioning full-time in two sittings from 10.30am to 1pm, and from 2pm to 4.30pm or till 5.30pm as per the case load.
After being without a president for two and a half years, an officiating president was appointed in October last year.

The government made appointments to the state commission after the high court of Bombay at Goa in January last year and gave the government three months to fill up vacant posts of president and three members.
