KTC to buy new buses, says Godinho

Porvorim: Transport minister Mauvin Godinho said that the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) plans to hire private buses to overcome the shortfall of buses in the entire state.
Godinho said that there is demand for buses as students travel to schools and hence the government seeks to purchase new buses.
He said that KTCL has a shortfall of buses, while private bus owners are not purchasing new buses post the Covid-19 pandemic.
Godinho said that he has urged the chief minister to allot funds so that new buses can be purchased.
Poriem MLA Deviya Rane, in her calling attention, said that students are forced to take a risky alternative mode of transportation as well as other routes to reach school due to irregular bus service.
