Former Cong MLA’s son plans to join BJP

Mysuru: Former Congress MLA Vasu’s son Kavish Gowda may join BJP, which the former legislator has opposed. Kavish has expressed his intent to join BJP and is seeking a ticket from Chamundeshwari assembly constituency, BJP spokesperson Mohan claimed on Wednesday. “He is seeking a ticket from Chamundeshwari. But the party is yet to take any decision,” Mohan told TOI.
Vokkaligas form a major chunk of the voters in Chamundeshwari, where the saffron party is trying to get a foothold. Kaveesh Gowda said he is drawn towards BJP due to its ideological and development vision. He told TOI that he will share all the details about his future political decision in the next three – four days.
When contacted, Vasu said that he is not aware of such a development. “My son didn’t discuss the issue with me. If he seeks my advice, I will suggest against joining BJP,” he said. tnn
