One killed, half a dozen hurt in clash in Jharia
Dhanbad: One person died and at least half a dozen were injured in a violent group clash in Gulgulia Basti under Jharia police station in Dhanbad on Thursday.
The clash reportedly between the supporters of two political leaders broke out over fetching water from a public tap. Jharia police state in-charge Pankaj Jha said, “We have recovered five live bombs, used cartridges and swords from the spot. Further probe is on.”
A section of one political leader’s supporters captured the public tap on Thursday and didn’t allow others to collect water. This led to a verbal duel which soon turned into stone pelting and then dozens of crude bombs were hurled, and shots were fired in air.
Niranjan Tanti who sustained severe head injuries and deep cuts in arm, succumbed to his injuries.
