Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Friday at 09:59AM

Coal India(up 1.61%), 20 Microns(up 1.01%), MOIL(up 0.97%), Ashapura Minechem(up 0.91%), Aro Granite Industries(up 0.81%), KIOCL(up 0.77%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.62%), Dvpt Corporation(up 0.60%) and NMDC Ltd(up 0.27%) were among the top gainers.

Pokarna(down 1.29%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.45%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 20.5 points down at 18087.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 73.44 points at 60784.99 at around 09:59AM.

Coal India(up 1.63%), HDFC(up 1.01%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.01%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.0%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.98%), HDFC Bank(up 0.92%), State Bank of India(up 0.87%), Tata Motors(up 0.79%), ICICI Bank(up 0.56%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.49%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever(down 2.89%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.67%), Nestle India(down 1.3%), Asian Paints(down 1.21%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.2%), Titan Company Ltd(down 1.01%), Reliance Industries(down 0.97%), UPL Ltd(down 0.84%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.79%) and SBI Life(down 0.76%) were trading in the red.
