Painter comes to hockey player’s aid

Bhubaneswar: Moved by the financial condition of Odia player Nilam Sanjeep Xess in India’s men’s hockey team, eminent painter Jatin Das has come forward to help his family. The painter is working on a painting on hockey and the amount fetched after auctioning it will be donated to the player. “I read in the newspaper that a boy from a poor family, who does not have electricity at home, is a great hockey player of Odisha. I was very touched and moved. I impromptu thought of the idea of doing a large painting on canvas,” said Das. tnn
