Rajasthan University contract workers’ protest affects hostels

JAIPUR: Students from over ten hostels of University of Rajasthan were affected for the second day on Wednesday as a protest by contractual workers of the university continued.
The students complained that food was not being cooked in the hostels’ messes due to the protest. The student also said they were facing problems in getting their migration certificates.
These issues prompted some students stage a protest at the university’s main gate and take out a march up to the vice-chancellor’s secretariat on Wednesday. They demanded that the problems faced by students at the hostels be resolved at the earliest and that the new library be opened for use by the students.
