Bhubaneswar: The health and family welfare department on Wednesday urged the higher education department to ask universities to publish the results of MBBS and BDS final examinations before March 31.
It said early publication of the result will help students start their internship before March 31 and they will become eligible for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) the next year after completing the internship. The Supreme Court and National Medical Council (NMC) have made NEET mandatory for all MBBS and BDS admissions.
To become eligible for NEET, the cut-off date for completing the internship is usually March 31 of the admission year. But students are not able to complete internships due to delay in result publication.
