Konkani, Beary study chairs get new offices

Mangaluru: Work becomes successful only when like-minded people work as a team with love, commitment and honesty, said vice-chancellor of Mangalore University P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya.
He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the new offices of Konkani Study Chair, Beary Study Chair, and Youth Red Cross Unit of Mangalore University, built at University College, Hampankatta, on Wednesday. Former chairman of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Ronald S A Castelino said the establishment of the new office has inspired the work being done by the Konkani Study Chair for the development of Konkani.
Former chairman of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy B A Mohammad Hanif hailed Yadapadithaya for contributing to the development of all local languages of coastal Karnataka. Chairman of District Red Cross Society Shantharam Shetty said like language and culture, humanity and nationalism are priorities for Red Cross. The new office will help to become more efficient, he added.
