Kashi to hold CNG boat rally at NaMo Ghat on January 22
Boat race and CNG boat rally will be flagged off from the NaMo Ghat to Ravidas Ghat
VARANASI: In the run-up of the main event of India Energy Week (IEW) being held from February 6 in Bengaluru under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, a CNG boat rally - 'Kashi ka Rang, Urja ke Sang' - will be organized at NaMo Ghat in Varanasi on January 22.
According to chief general manager of GIAL (India) Limited, KN Singh, the event is likely to be attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri.
A boat race and CNG boat rally will be flagged off from the NaMo Ghat to Ravidas Ghat. It will be followed by a cruise trip to Dashashwamedh Ghat, where the guests will watch the evening Ganga aarti. A mesmerizing laser show will also be held at the Chetsingh Ghat on the occasion. Later, a programme of musical performance will be held at the NaMo Ghat.
He said that as the first major event under India's G20 Presidency, India Energy Week follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pledge at the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (CO) to cut India's emissions to net-zero by 2070. India Energy Week is the all-encompassing international energy event supported at the highest level of the Indian government, with participation from all the public sector undertakings (PSUs), and officially supported by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI).
India is projected to witness the largest increase in energy demand of any country over the next two decades, as its economy continues to grow and create opportunities for its people, and the global energy value chain. As a rapidly developing country, and soon to be the world's most populous nation, India's energy transition will play a pivotal role in global energy markets.
The inaugural India Energy Week comes at a critical time, with the challenges of energy security and environmental sustainability impacting long-term energy transition and paths towards decarbonisation.
According to the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, earlier, the curtain raiser of 'India Energy Week 2023' (IEW 2023) was organised at Bangalore Palace, Bengaluru on December 16. The curtain raiser marked the beginning of a number of preparatory events being hosted in the run up to the India Energy Week 2023.
The India Energy Week 2023 is being organised during India's G20 Presidency, under the tagline "Growth, Collaboration, Transition". It is expected to feature more than 30 energy ministers, 50 CEOs and over 10000 delegates. It will provide a unique opportunity to showcase India as both an engine of global economic growth and a driver for global consumption, supported by a conducive and investment-friendly environment, and a skilled workforce. IEW 2023 will provide an unprecedented opportunity for regional, international leaders and CEOs to come together for strategic policy making and technical knowledge sharing.
During the IEW 2023, through 19 strategic conference sessions, the comprehensive gamut of issues covering the entire energy sector would be discussed and deliberated by panels of energy ministers from various countries, CEOs / leaders of energy majors. The Strategic Conference of IEW 2023 covers themes such as Energy Security, pathways for decarbonization, Resilient Energy Supply Chains, Emerging Fuels such as Biofuel and Hydrogen, Investments in Upstream and Midstream Sector, etc.
Besides the Strategic Conference, IEW 2023 will also have Technical and Commercial Conference Sessions, wherein critical aspects of prevailing and prospective energy market scenarios will be deliberated upon.
