Getty ImagesNEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 258.83 points up at 60914.55 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Shree Precoated(down 9.19 per cent), Benara Bearings(down 8.84 per cent), Vaarad Ventures(down 8.56 per cent), Modella Woollen(down 6.82 per cent) and Ltd.(down 6.74 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 27 stocks traded in the green, while 22 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 65.45 points up at 18118.75.
On the BSE, Aveer Foods Ltd., ., , SVS . and Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while , , , and touched their fresh 52-week highs.
