MANGALURU: Work becomes successful only when like-minded people work as a team with love, commitment, and honesty. Such works not only enhance the dignity of the institution but also provide us with a sense of accomplishment, said P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya, Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University.
He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the new offices of Konkani Study Chair, Beary Study Chair, and Youth Red Cross Unit of Mangalore University, built at University College, Hampankatta, on Wednesday. Chief guest, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy former chairman Ronald S A Castelino, said that the establishment of the new office has inspired the work being done by the Konkani Study Chair for the development of Konkani.
Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy former chairman BA Muhammad Hanif hailed Yadapadithaya for contributing to the development of all local languages of coastal Karnataka. District Red Cross Society chairman Shantharam Shetty said that like language and culture, humanity and nationalism are priorities for the Red Cross. The new office will help to become more efficient, he added.
The vice chancellor, who was responsible for the establishment of the new office, was felicitated on this occasion. Principal Dr Anasuya Rai said that the development of local language and culture has been given priority during the administration of P S Yadapadithaya.
