Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.49% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:19AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

HDFC Bank(up 1.68 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.22 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 0.93 per cent), Axis Bank(up 0.32 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(up 0.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Federal Bank(down 0.98 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.8 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.52 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 0.32 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.31 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.49 per cent at 42441.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 64.25 points at 18117.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 217.16 points at 60872.88.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, , PNB and FSN E-Comm(Nykaa)were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , Ltd., Homesfy Realty Ltd. and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while FSN E-Comm(Nykaa), Anlon Technology ., Chaman Metallics Ltd., Omkar Speciality and . hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
