The Uttar Pradesh police have arrested an Islamic religious teacher for allegedly promoting religious literature in Magh Mela on January 17. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) of Prayagraj said that two men have been arrested for selling religious literature on Islam and Hinduism. The Probe reveals that they were converted to Islam from Hinduism. He said, “Mohammad Ghazi, is a madrassa teacher, who was supplying them with these books to be distributed for free. They used to click pictures and take addresses of all those to whom they gave these books and later gave this info to someone in Abu Dhabi. These books do not have ISBN numbers.” “Two men have been arrested for selling religious literature on Islam and Hinduism. In books related to the Hindu religion, 'shlokas' were interpreted in a way that might hurt people's sentiments. Probe reveals that they were converted to Islam from Hinduism,” he added.
