Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.68%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.

Shares of Zydus Lifesciences(up 2.78 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 2.76 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 2.02 per cent), Lupin(up 1.85 per cent) and Gland Pharma(up 1.79 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Pfizer(down 0.97 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 0.54 per cent), Cipla(down 0.53 per cent), Granules India(down 0.27 per cent) and Sanofi India(down 0.08 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.68 per cent up at 12734.5.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 112.05 points at 18165.35, while the BSE Sensex stood up 390.02 points at 61045.74.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 ended in the green, while 12 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., PNB, and FSN E-Comm(Nykaa)were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , Homesfy Realty Ltd., , and Generic Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Anlon Technology ., ., Chaman Metallics Ltd., Inds. and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
