HUBBALLI: The skill development department in collaboration with the College education department, IBMR College, GTTC and Vijaylaxmi Gear, Hubballi will be organising a mega job fair called ‘Sarvarigu udyoga; udyoga mela’ on January 20 at IBMR college, Hubballi.
On Tuesday district skill development officer, Dr Chandrappa said the department has made all preparations to organise the job fair on January 20. More than 42 companies are participating. The application process has already begun and more than 920 students are registered to work in the private sector. For registration, visit http://skillconnect.kaushalkar.com/candidatereg, he said.
He said, the department of skill development, entrepreneurship and livelihood has provided various skill-oriented training to the students under Pradhan mantri kaushal vikas yojana and the chief minister’s kaushalya Karnataka yojane (CMKKY). More than 10,000 students have been trained in 30 different private training sectors. The scheme was launched in 2016 in the state. Many well-trained students are employed in reliable companies and have also become entrepreneurs in the district, he added.
He said the skill development department was established in 2016 in the state
budget to bring various skill training programmes being conducted by different departments under one roof. The goal is to provide people with skills and jobs. Counseling, training, and placement have been made available to people, he added.
