Tollywood actress insists controversies won’t affect ‘Pathaan’s box office numbers

Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated action entertainer ‘Pathaan’ has already plunged into a sea of unsavoury controversies. However, Sayantani Guhathakurta who is a die-hard fan of SRK believes it won’t affect the film’s box office business. The actress says, “Over the past few years so many big-budget films have faced these controversies that experts say have had an impact on the box office numbers. ‘Pathaan’ too has been a victim of this. I think the controversy surrounding Deepika Padukone’s outfit colour is absolutely rubbish. I know as the release date draws closer, these protests are likely to increase but frankly speaking, this might work as a negative advantage for ‘Pathaan’. In the past as well, such controversies have had an opposite impact on several films under different circumstances. Remember what happened with Padmaavat in 2018? Despite protests and criticism it did wonders at the box office. The ‘Pathaan’ makers should look for a similar impact.”
