Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:11AM

Umang Dairies(up 5.83%), Parag Milk(up 1.26%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 1.09%), Vadilal Industries(up 1.04%), Zydus Wellness(up 0.97%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 0.74%), Hindustan Foods(up 0.65%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 0.62%), Dangee Dums(up 0.54%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 0.50%) were among the top gainers.

Heritage Foods(down 0.87%), Dodla Dairy(down 0.71%), ADF Foods(down 0.40%), Nakoda Group(down 0.32%), Nestle India(down 0.29%), Emami(down 0.14%) and Prataap Snacks(down 0.11%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 82.95 points up at 18136.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 312.01 points at 60967.73 at around 11:11AM.

Tata Steel(up 2.6%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.13%), HDFC Bank(up 1.6%), HDFC(up 1.52%), Grasim Industries(up 1.52%), Wipro(up 1.48%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.33%), ITC(up 1.25%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.12%) and SBI Life(up 1.11%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 2.64%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.42%), Tata Motors(down 1.19%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.14%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.53%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.51%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.47%), Eicher Motors(down 0.44%), Cipla(down 0.42%) and Larsen & Toubro(down 0.41%) were trading in the red.
