‘Sidelined and hurt’, Cong leader quits party
Bhubaneswar: Congress leader Satya Prakash Nayak, who unsuccessfully contested from the Puri Lok Sabha seat in 2019, resigned from the party on Tuesday after feeling sidelined and hurt. In his resignation letter addressed to the Congress state president Sarat Pattanayak, Nayak said the Congress in the state is in utter disorder and not doing serious politics.
“The party is not grooming second and third generation leadership. Young professionals and intellectuals are reluctant to join the party in Odisha. The party is in chaos. Your efforts do not look serious to resolve the tumultuous situation in the party. Workers like us have little value or say in the organisational affairs,” Nayak stated in his resignation letter.
Nayak, who was aggrieved after being dropped from the list of Pradesh Congress Committee office-bearers, also hit out at the Congress and its state leadership for going soft against the BJD on many burning issues. TNN
