Tamil Nadu to learn golden hour management on trauma caused by accidents. The decision was taken at a meeting recently. It was chaired by health secretary Shalini Pandit. The government will send a proposal to Tamil Nadu through the DMET, official sources said. The state government in 2018 notified creation of 33 trauma care facilities in state (TCF) as per the Supreme Court direction. Eighteen private hospitals with level-1 TCF have been empanelled for cashless treatment of trauma patients within 48 hours of accidents.
The government decision revealed that a private agency has been selected that will integrate public and private ambulances services with common emergency number 108. So far, ambulances have been positioned at 84 blind spots (accident-prone spots in the state out of 89 identified by NHAI. tnn
