Gurgaon: MCG commissioner PC Meena reviewed the key projects of the civic body on Tuesday. In a meeting with senior officials, the commissioner was told that the construction of the new MCG office building at Vyapar Sadan is going on at full swing and will be completed by June 2024.
Chief engineer Radheshyam Sharma also informed Meena about the multilevel parking project at Old Railway Road. After the project is completed, it will resolve parking woes in the area, officials said. The commissioner directed them to prepare an estimate of the revenue which will be generated from parking and also chalk up a plan for auction of shops in the multilevel facility. The emphasis should be on enhancing MCG’s revenue, Meena said.
During the review of sanitation services, the commissioner said bulk waste generators should be audited. For this, he directed additional commissioners and the nodal officer of the environment and sustainability wing to rope in RWAs.
“It is our primary responsibility to keep the city clean. The participation of RWAs should be enhanced for this. Moreover, the garbage dumping points should be covered and waste should be removed regularly from such points," he said in the meeting.
Moreover, the commissioner also directed officials to prepare a list of property tax defaulters with dues above Rs 1 lakh, and also make a list of the top 100 defaulters so that the dues can be recovered from them. A campaign will soon be launched for this, officials said.
